This case study overviews the Fischer Pavillion project - a multi-purpose exhibition hall that hosts cultural and art festivals, tradeshows, conferences, exhibitions and privately catered events. Benefits of the project include: 20% reduction in energy use, 50% reduction in potable water use, 25% reduction in potable water used for irrigation, 49% of products and materials from regional sources, 87% reduction of waste to landfills based on demolition and construction recycling.

This case study reviews the project known as Fire Station 10, which is actually three facilities in one: a fire station,
a fire alarm center and an emergency operations center. It also serves as the citys primary hazardous materials response unit. Benefits of the project include: 18% reduction in energy usage, 33% less potable water inside building, 40% less potable water used, 25% decrease in impervious surface on site and 25% reduction in rate of stormwater runoff through green roof and planting area.

This case study overviews the developement of a new office building that houses the main controls for Cedar watershed treatment plant, this site is located in a heavily wooded preserve. Sustainability strategies hinge upon extremely low-impact site design backed by constructed wetlands to further buffer any contamination of the water supply.

The Cedar River Watershed is the primary source of water for 70 percent of the 1.3 million people living in the greater Seattle area. In 2000, the watershed was designated as an ecological reserve through the City of Seattle's Habitat Conservation Plan.
