Southwall Technologies
When looking to the future, Southwall looks at windows as untapped opportunities for superior budget savings and lower carbon emissions. While green building is expected to grow 50% annually over the next several years, inefficient glass remain the weak link in the performance of the building envelope and is responsible for more than 30% of a building’s total energy waste. The Auto industry faces a similar challenge, with cars and trucks producing 38% of carbon emissions annually. The 50% growth in average glass surface area over the last 25 years has increased the load on the heating and cooling system required to maintain occupant comfort, decreasing overall fuel economy. Architects and car designers around the world are looking with urgency for economically viable, technically executable and immediately available solutions aligned with energy conservation and CO2 reduction goals. Southwall provides its customers around the world with clear, reliable and immediate answers to the challenges of reducing energy consumption, improving glass efficiencies and designing the world’s most energy-efficient buildings and cars.
UltraGlas, Inc
Founded by Jane Skeeter in 1987, UltraGlas, Inc. pioneered, developed and introduced the unique heat slumping (embossing) process known as UltraGlas® to the U.S. architectural and design communities. UltraGlas has continued to evolve this technology into the most elegant means of incorporating dimensionally functional glass textures, designs, patterns, imagery, palettes and finishes for all architectural applications.
Vetrazzo, LLC
Vetrazzo® (the product) was invented in 1996 in Berkeley, California - back when "green" was just a color. Here’s the story: A glass scientist working on his PhD, driven by his passion for the environment, gets the idea to recapture the inherent beauty of recycled glass by transforming it into a functionally superior building material. He teams up with a like-minded Bay Area architect and they form a partnership to produce Vetrazzo in small, hand-made batches for the local building community. But word gets around about this stunning, innovative material and soon orders are coming from far away places like the Ritz Carlton hotel in Miami South Beach. Over the years, production moves from garage to warehouse to larger warehouse but try as they might, production capacity can’t catch up with demand.
Serious Materials
Serious Materials develops and manufactures sustainable green building materials that dramatically reduce the impact of the 'built environment' on the climate. The company was voted #1 at Cleantech Venture Forum XII, won the first Aspen Institute award for innovation in Corporate Energy Conservation and Global Product of the Year. It has also been recognized by TIME/CNN, Fortune, Business Week, AlwaysOn and more as one of the most promising green companies. We aim for breakthroughs in product performance, without requiring changes in customer behavior or in how products are used – thus speeding market adoption.
RavenBrick LLC
We are all familiar with the benefits and drawbacks of using large amounts of glass in home or office construction. The natural light and warmth of the sun makes any space more useable and pleasant. Numerous studies suggest that adding natural light to a workspace can improve workers’ productivity and reduce absenteeism. Unfortunately, windows can dramatically increase energy consumption by letting in too much heat during the day, and letting it leak out again at night. In an era of increasing environmental awareness corporations and individuals are seeking ways to make their homes and offices more energy efficient. Windows are a great place to start.

Sage Electrochromics, Inc.
SAGE was founded in 1989 by John Van Dine, who is the company’s president and CEO. Mr. Van Dine’s mission for the company was the same then as it is now: to bring to market a durable, reliable and high-performance energy-saving electrochromic technology for buildings.SAGE began its existence in a small laboratory in Valley Cottage, N.Y., and then moved onto the campus at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey in the school’s Department of Ceramic Science and Engineering.
